Community Support Fund financial overview 2021-22

Financial overview of income and expenditure, and total outstanding commitments for 2021-22.

In 2021-22, the Community Support Fund (CSF) received $122.84 million in revenue and incurred $83.24 million in expenditure. Funding from the CSF was provided to support various projects with community benefits that align with the CSF funding objectives legislated in the Gambling Regulation Act 2003.

During the 2021-22 financial year, the CSF trust has an opening cash balance of $55.21 million, with net cash movement of $64.13 million resulting in a closing cash balance of $119.34 million as reported in the DTF Annual Report.

Below is a percentage breakdown of the CSF 2021-22 grant expenditure by funding purpose:

  • 43.77 per cent of the CSF funding was allocated for tackling problem gambling which is one of the top priorities for the CSF.
  • 32.99 per cent of the CSF funding was allocated to sport and recreation related projects.
  • The remaining 23.24 per cent of funding was allocated across various other funding objectives.
